Holiday baking. Yum!
Every home has it’s traditions. Ours is my mothers version of Chex Mix. This recipe has got a bit of a bite (Worcestshire Sauce). Christmas is coming so let’s get to it!
Drum roll please for…
Janet’s Snack Mix
Ingredients:
Kix (1 box)
Cherrios (1 box)
Rice Chex (1 box)
Corn Chex (1 box)
Pretzel Sticks (6 oz)
3 Tbsps Worcestshire Sauce
1 pound Butter
1 Tbsp Garlic Salt
1 Tbsp Lawries
1 Tbsp Celery Salt
Melt butter and add seasonings. Mix and pour over cereals. (I use two large roasters. I mix the cereal and divide them between the two containers. Once I pour the melted butter and seasoning over the cereal I use a large spatula to gently stir. Don’t get to vigorous or the cereal will crumble.) Cook for 2 1/2 hours at 250 degrees. Stir every 30 minutes. Do not cover when baking.
That’s it! We keep a bowl of this close to our Apple Cider. We’ve also made gifts of Janet’s Snack Mix by placing a cup of it in a festive treat bag. Perfect for teachers, baby-sitters or even the post man!
Enjoy!
