There are different versions of “on the go” mini Pizza’s. Some folks use bagels (regular or bite size). Other folks use soft taco shells or pre-bought mini crusts. The peeps at 1 North Harmon use hamburger buns! It’s simple but I’ve learned from my mistakes and I promise that the pizza protocol below will produce tasty treats for you and your fam!
Mini Pizza’s:
Ingredients:
Sliced Hamburger Buns (preferably fresh from the bakery, less preservatives then many of the store bought brands.)
Tomato Paste
Garlic Salt
Basil
Toppings of Choice:
Grated Cheese
Parmesan Cheese
Pepperoni
Veggies (Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Spinach)
Slice buns in half and place on cookie sheet. Spread paste on buns (We’ve used pre-seasoned sauce but the buns will quickly turn soggy, not so with paste.) Season by lightly sprinkling with garlic salt and crushed basil. If you want a little more flavor add crushed oregano-but careful, it doesn’t take much.
Now you’re ready for toppings! Mini-Pizzas are awesome when you’ve got a crew. Prep toppings and place in bowls. Allow folks to build their own. Place a cookie sheet full of pizza’s in the oven at 350 and bake for 7 to 10 minutes.
That’s it DoAheads. Whether you’re trying to get the crew fed and out the door or filling your home full of teens for some Friday night fun——Mini- Pizza’s will do the trick!
