Naturally…

It’s hard to believe but garden season is here. Time to poke those seeds in the ground, watch them grow and then…

Bam! Harvest time!

But what if the harvest is delayed? What if the seed doesn’t grow and ready itself on our time table?

When that happens in my vegetable garden I get discouraged.

When it happens in my kiddo’s lives…I wonder if I’ve failed.

This DoAhead Woman (like most Moms’) is a “spiritual seed” planter.

Sometimes “the harvest” is delayed.

If only we could WILL spiritual harvest in our children’s lives!

Thank heaven for this verse!

“What after all is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe–as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” 1 Cor. 3:5-7 NIV

This is good news on two fronts!

Good news #1. We have assigned tasks.

If we are to seed we do it like crazy. If we’re called to water we grab buckets!

Changes in seasons may call for us to modify our tasks. We have to be in tune to the Master gardener as well as the seedlings in order to determine what He’s calling us to do.

Good news #2. GOD makes the seed grow.

This verse is clear.  God does the work.  And did you know the Greek word for “cause” (auxano) means “that which grows naturally” or on its own.

Wow. HE does the work!

He does it naturally, effortlessly, automatically.

How comforting to know we simply need to do our assigned tasks and wait patiently for what He will bring about naturally.

I don’t know about you DoAheads but that makes my heart sing!

Your DoAhead Friend,

Speak Your Mind
