Savage Cabbage!

Roasted Cabbage

Doaheads, this recipe will make the Tarzan in your tribe beat his chest! (And if his chest is bare the Worcestershire Sauce may even put hair on it.)

Summertime abounds with grilling opportunities and this recipe is great for outdoor cooking! A friend of mine found it on the internet and shared it.  My fam tried it for the first time two nights ago. Doc loved it! So let’s not beat around the bush…savage cabbage, here we come!

Roasted Cabbage

Ingredients:

1 tsp Olive Oil

2 Tbsp bacon bits (Fry it if you have time, if not Real Bacon Bits works great!)

2 Tbsp Lemon Juice

1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

1/4 tsp Salt

1/4 ts Black Pepper

1 Medium Head of Cabbage

Ingredients for Roasted Cabbage

Mix the olive oil, bacon bits, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to make the marinade.

Thoroughly rinse the cabbage and cut it into 4 to 8 wedges (you can decide how thick of wedges your family would prefer.)

Place the wedges on aluminum foil. Drizzle the marinade with bacon bits over the wedges. Cover and seal with foil and place on the grill. Cook at approximately 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. (A drizzle from the sky decided to rain on our parade so we ended up cooking our cabbage on a cookie sheet in the oven. Same deal…425 for 20 to 25 minutes. I cooked it uncovered. It turned out terrific!)

The DoAhead in this bad boy is to prep your marinade and clean your cabbage in advance. If you are the sort that loves to chat with company while you host, having these steps done ahead of time will allow your guests to be graced by the most wonderful dish of all…YOU!
