It’s the month of May and graduations are right around the corner so DoAhead Dining will focus on paahtay treats! (And yes…that is not a typo. I’m just trying to sound like my hip teenagers.)
Our first recipe will be a yummy variation of an infamous hors d’ oeuvre…meatballs! The secret ingredient is (drum roll please) grape jelly! Check out the recipe below for a no-fail meatball recipe your guests will love!
Karen’s Sweet Meat Balls
Ingredients:
2 pounds Ground Beef
1 heaping Tbsp Onion Flakes
2 Eggs
½ Cup Cereal Flakes
Pinch Salt
Pinch Pepper
Sauce:
1 ten ounce jar Chili Sauce
1 16 ounce Grape Jelly
Mix meat with other ingredients, shape into balls and bake 20-30 minutes at 375 degrees, turning once. Dissolve jelly in chili sauce and add meat balls. These can be prepared the day prior, refrigerated and then heated through the day of serving. These are great to warm and serve from a crock pot!
That’s it DoAheads. Sweet Meatballs is a recipe that’s sure to please your many graduation guests!
