Summer is here and DoAhead Dining is ready to grill! I LOVE to grill. I wish I could tell you it’s because I’ve got a real knack for it but the truth is I’m motivated to grill because of how easy it is to clean up! Whatever your motive for outdoor cooking the good news is that one doesn’t need to be an outdoor Emeril to pull a tasty meal off the grill…especially, if you’ve taken the time to prep a few tasty rubs or basting sauces in advance!
The next few dining posts will feature flavor rubs and sauces that you can store in the fridge or freezer and pull out when you want to throw a burger, chicken breast or fish on the grill! The recipe below will season 4 to 5 steaks but I know you’ve already read my mind…make enough to feed your family for at least 2 to 3 meals. The best DoAhead is cooking in big batches. Let’s get to it!
Savory Steak Rub
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp Marjoram
1 Tbsp Basil
2 tsps Garlic Powder
2 tsps Thyme
1 tsp Rosemary
¾ tsp Oregano
That’s it! It takes just minutes to prep your seasoning. If you’ve got time, rub your choice of meat down in the morning (This recipe works well with steak or chicken). Lay the seasoned meat out on a cookie sheet, cover with saran wrap and refrigerate.
Bam!
Walk in the door after a long day, throw your meat on the grill, grab a salad and you are golden!
